I have been reading around some forums and it seems the framerate problems are caused by having your 360 set to 1080p. I only have a 720p set so it would be good to get confirmation on this.
Ok more sales figures and boasting, can we find some real news on this site?
I haven't had any framerate issues funny enough? I think it runs a hell of a lot better than the original N64 version...
WOW what a great score. After reading the review, I really should give it a go. As a massive Banjo fan I was dubious of the new approach Rare have taken, but I'm certainly accepting of new approaches (if they work).
Any news on release date for Pal territories?
Agree with Lethal, people keep complaining that FFXIII will be delayed to coincide with the 360 release, it isn't the case. The game will be finished on PS3 first, come out in Japan and the localisation process will run parallel to the 360 development...
There has always been a gap between FF Japanese releases and the release in the West.
Exactly, the use of the Unreal Engine coupled with a misconception that 'Western' gamers prefer a certain style of game is what the mistake is.
If people actually read the article they would see it is in the form of a debate. One is arguing 'for' the move to the 360, the other is 'against' the move. How is it fanboyish?
I actually purchased FF12 a few months ago, when I have some spare time I really need to play it. It couldn't be as bad as their current offerings?
They were also Gods back in the day of Square. Secret of Mana is still my favourite game of all time.... Oh the memories....
Agreed. Though a 360 owner myself, I can see this transition to the West as a wrong move by Square Enix (at least to the extent they have moved).
The simple fact is, JRPG's have always been a niche' market, by trying to expand and incorporate gamers who traditionally stayed away from JRPG's (maybe because of their perceived complexity) and developing games with toned down gameplay mechanics, they are losing the very audience who enjoy the genre' in the first place.
...
I agree with the against argument. I think it has something to do with the misconception that Westerners prefer a certain style of game. I don't need Unreal Engine and toned down gameplay mechanics to enjoy my JRPG's, I want the damn traditional stuff.
THIS is the person responsible for our archaic rating system.
http://www.abc.net.au/tv/go... Go to the right and scroll down to the R18 debate.
His comments and position are based on assumptions, he is treating the Australian public like children. With the average age of the Australian gamer now 30, the rating system is ludicrous.
I would be interested to know actually how many people are experiencing motion sickness from Mirror's Edge. A couple of people I have spoken to have said they literally can't play the game without feeling sick?
I'm with you there, don't know if it is personally respect or fear of heights for me...
I really should give this title the time it deserves. These last couple of months have been amazing for the wide selection of games available, yet some are certainly getting buried unfortunately.
Though different from your typical FPS it is essentially within the confines of the FPS genre'.
I actually really like the direction of the game, I am really sick to death of the 'normal' FPS formula, but something just hasn't clicked with me yet. After reading some responses here, I may need to give it more time.
I must admit, I have never quite felt the sense of vertigo and weight in a game before.
I actually thought I would have enjoyed this game more than I did, I think the score is close to where I would put it. I certainly liked the direction DICE took with the game, but its' length is one area of disappointment.
To be fair, Infinite Undiscovery was developed by Tri-Ace, though one could argue Square-Enix are fools for even publishing the damn game. These titles have certainly tarnished Square-Enix's image.
You do know the Australian population is around 22 Million compared the USA's 305 Million...
I agree, I don't even own a PS3 but I don't see the point in berating other members because MS sold some 360's...
I think I might join you Onslaught, I guess this site is doomed to be run by fanboys forever...
